How to display your collectible toys
Posted by admin Under Collectible ToysMany people are simply obsessed with collectible toys. From trains to dolls and from superheroes to stuffed animals, collecting them is their huge pleasure. Of course, for someone that already has a large collection, displaying it properly is the next step. There are many solutions for you to show your collectibles without taking too much space inside the house. When deciding how to arrange your collectible toys, the first thing you need to consider is the size and the quantity.
If you have tens of dolls, for example, and you want other people to enjoy them, displaying all in your living room might not be the best idea. An entire wall covered with dolls will look strange and even a little creepy. You should rather select a dozen, your favorite ones, and find them a shelf in your living room. If your dolls are old and delicate, you can put them inside a cabinet with glass doors. This way, everyone can see them, yet they are protected from dust and dirt. With stuffed animals, you have to take even more precautions, especially if they are antiques. The materials that the stuffed animals are made from are damaged by humidity, by heat, direct sunlight and even insects. So, when displaying them, you really need a cabinet with glass doors, but one that closes very well. Make sure that your collectible toys are away from heating sources and they are not under direct sunlight from the windows. At least once every two months, inspect them and fix all the problems – dust, broken stitches and so on. You should add some mothballs in the cabinet where you keep them, to avoid irreversible damages.
Every one loves collectible toys such as cars, trains, planes and so on. You can make a great, interesting exhibition from your collectibles. You just need to find the right place to show them. Because they are small items, you don’t need a lot of space to display them. A very interesting solution is to build a special coffee table, to hold your collection. You need a double top for your coffee table, a sheet of wood and a piece of glass to cover it, leaving some space inside, like a small, narrow box for your toys. It’s a very elegant solution. The coffee table will look great, you don’t take supplementary space from your living room and you don’t have to pay a lot of money on expensive cabinets.
When you are displaying your collectible toys in different areas of the house, like the living room or the hallways, for other people to see them, the most important thing is to not exaggerate. Collectible toys are fun and interesting, the dolls and the stuffed animals are sweet. But, if you take every inch of free space and you put a toy there, the effect will be far from pleasant. Keep it simple and only show your best pieces. The rest of them can rest comfortably in box, under your bed.
